Harvest Notes
The 2011 Unorthodox Chardonnay, formerly named Chardonnay Musque, comes exclusively from the estate vineyards. The vines are interplanted with our Chardonnay. The Chardonnay Musque vines are harvested after the main Chardonnay harvest to allow for extra hang time, which helps to develop flavour.
Winemaking
Harvested in late October most of the leaves had fallen off the vines. An overnight skin contact was used to extract all the Musque flavours from the grapes.
