Apparently, there’s an 11th Commandment: Thou shalt make award-winning wine!
The judges at the National Wine Awards of Canada have spoken, blessing Blasted Church with 11 medals. We won’t argue with divine intervention, or with Canada’s top wine judges.
The 2026 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada were very successful, with over 1,800 entries from 250 different wineries from six provinces. The “Nationals” are Canada’s largest wine awards, and each year they are held in a different Canadian wine region. Judging for the 2026 awards was held in Niagara, Ontario from June 12-18, 2026.
Blasted Church is thrilled to share that we have been awarded 11 medals, including six silver and five bronze. Consider this your official sign to stock your cellar with award-winning wines!

Availability: Online and in our wine shop.
“Fragrant floral aromas and warm spice introduce a generous palate with ripe stone fruit and a rounded texture. Full-bodied yet fresh, with impressive finish,” writes judge Sharon McLean.
2022 Cabernet Franc: Silver Medal, 90 Points – National Wine Awards of Canada 2026
Availability: Online and in our wine shop.
“A cabernet franc no-doubter, albeit with some maturity in its mix of fresh and dried fruit profile. Conversely chalky and tannic, of red fruit run from stone through berry, but truthfully just a bit more exotic than that. Warm and boozy with leathery texture, earthy and just a bit gritty,” writes judge Michael Godel.
2022 Holy Moly: Silver Medal, 90 Points – National Wine Awards of Canada 2026
Availability: Limited quantities in our wine shop, and available exclusively to Choir and Flock members online.
“A tight nose suggests a high-octane wine, but some charming dark fruit is certainly evident on the start and finish of tasting. Quite dense mid-palate with tannic grip coming to the fore, but clean and will likely improve in the bottle,” writes Elsa Macdonale, MW, who judged and tasted blind at NWAC June 2026.
2025 Small Blessings Riesling: Silver Medal, 90 Points – National Wine Awards of Canada 2026
Availability: Limited quantities in our wine shop, and quantities held for future shipments to Flock members.
“This sweet botrytis-affected Riesling offers an inviting, honeyed nose with plenty of personality. Supple and lightly oily and voluminous on the palate. Notes of fresh apple and dried tropical fruit, citrus zest, and beeswax with a hint of chamomile. Very good length.” Tasted at NWAC 2026, by Sara D’Amato.

“Sourced from hand-harvested fruit of the Moksha Vineyard in the north of Osoyoos and the Redbrick Vineyard on the East Bench of Osoyoos, this French-oak-aged cabernet franc offers notable aromatic complexity and generous fruit on the palate. Juicy with fine tannins and well-balanced alcohol. Moderate length with notes of leather, dried herbs, and red plum,” writes Sara D’Amato, who judged at NWAC 2026.

“An attractive nose, with a hint of development adding complexity to the well-defined black cherry and dark plum fruit, accented by well-integrated oak spice. It’s round and plush, with balanced, fine-grained tannin,” writes Geoffrey Moss, MW, who judged and tasted blind at the NWACs June 2026.

“Ultimate in grape variety fusion. …Varietal pesto that actually works, though there is simply no way to define what type of gastronomy or wine category this actually is. Does it matter? Requires creativity of the chef and mixologist,” writes Michael Godel, who judged and tasted blind at NWACs in June 2026.
