Greg headed out west after being a production manager for 13 years in the Tool and Die Industry, working 5 years in retail, running professionally, and coaching Track and Field and Triathlon training. Our prayers were answered when the Ironman athlete, who thought he was retired from work, joined Blasted Church in the spring of 2012 as a part-time bottling employee. His crazy, hard work ethic led us to ask him to stay for harvest, where his energy, stamina and interest to learn about wine lead us to ask him to stay on permanently. Greg’s keenness and love for the job is easy to see as he is always the first one to work in the morning and never has any issues staying late! We were also blessed to discover his mechanical aptitude which means all our equipment now runs smoothly! Greg’s addition to the Blasted Church Family is truly heavenly.
Alex hails from back east in Nova Scotia. With the Wine Business program from Vancouver Island University under his belt, Alex moved to Ontario where he completed the Winery and Viticulture Technician diploma program at Niagara College. Alex’s positive energy along with his willingness to learn landed him at Blasted Church with cellar, lab, vineyard, and retail experience from three diverse geographical wine regions – Rheingau, Germany; Nova Scotia, and Oliver, BC. After working the 2015 harvest, his attention to detail and versatility made it impossible for us to bid adieu. Alex stayed on with us as cellarhand into 2016 where his passion for wine, warm kindness and can-do-attitude make him a valued member of our congregation.
