The 2015 Gewurztraminer was harvested from our own vineyard and Mountain View in Oliver. The 2015 harvest saw sugars developing first and flavours later. To avoid too much alcohol in the wine, we harvested slightly earlier than normal which lead to lovely delicate flavours. We also introduced a small amount of Orange Muscat which increased the aromas.
The fruit was hand harvested, de-stemmed, and pressed separately. A portion of our vineyard's fruit saw skin contact for 4-6 hours before pressing. This allowed the wine to achieve maximum flavours. Each vineyard was vinted separately from in stainless steel tanks. A long, cold fermentation helped to retain fruit aromas and flavours in the finished wine.
